Required Skills:
A strong mechanical aptitude is necessary with additional technical aptitude in electronics highly desirable. A thorough understanding of English grammar and sentence structure and ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) is mandatory. Basic knowledge of engineering drafting procedures and ability to interpret engineering drawings

The Analyst assists in creating proposal responses
technical exception comments and cost estimating. This requires the review and interpretation of customer specifications and contractual documentation and cost estimation related to requirements for integrated logistics support activities

human factors and the preparation of technical manuals and documentation.

This position has frequent contact with various internal and external disciplines including Engineering
Reliability
Production
Equipment Design
Customer Support
Sales
Contracts and Program Management. Accordingly
in order to maintain a harmonious and close working relationship with these disciplines

the ILS Analyst is often required to interface directly with customer and vendor personnel
both domestic and international.

Associates degree in Engineering Technology(Bachelors degree preferred) ) which preferably includes the preparation of technical documentation using electronic media.



Job Description:
Responsible for implementing customer logistics, maintainability, and human engineering requirements. Develop technical manuals and documentation that provide customers with information for the installation, operation and maintenance of client's products.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Ensure adherence of all program requirements for technical documentation, logistics, maintainability, supportability and life cycle costs through a thorough understanding of program objectives, hardware design and application(s). Develop overall supportability recommendations during product design and development.
2. Gather data and conceptualize/create a database to support the calculation of maintainability parameters.
3. Interface with engineering disciplines (customer, subcontractor and/or government) to research and obtain source data to permit the preparation of documentation. Maintain this interface to enable the update of this documentation. Determine the need for supplementary documentation.
4. Apply technical writing skills in order to prepare technical manuals and documentation for operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul. Apply desktop publishing skills in order to create and integrate text, tables, flowcharts, spreadsheets, databases and graphic illustrations.
5. Prepare various logistic/maintainability analyses to define the product maintenance concept and to assess logistics supportability goals with regard to the installation, operation, overhaul and maintenance of client's domestic and international product line.

6. Generate logistics support and maintainability data including plans, predictions, support equipment identification, spares provisioning and Logistic Support Analysis Records (LSAR), to satisfy program requirements.

7. Maintain a working knowledge of MIL STD 1388, 470, 471, 1472, MIL M 38784, MIL M 38789, MIL STD 38807, MIL HDBK 473; ATA Specifications 100, 102, 104, and SPEC 2000, S2000M and S1000D including the application of simplified English per AECMA PSC 85 16598 to effectively perform program assignments.

8. Conceptualize, coordinate and organize maintenance training. Prepare training plans, schedules, guides, and course presentation materials for customer technical users and trainers.

9. Participate in customer reviews, validations and maintainability demonstrations to assure compliance with contractual requirements.

10. Assist in the preparation of proposal responses, technical exception comments and cost estimates in response to customer requests

11. Participate in design reviews to present and provide rationale for client's Logistics Support Analysis approach recommendations for supportability and maintainability.

12. Publish documentation to client intranet using appropriate formats (pdf, htm, asp).
