Required Skills:
Education and/​or Experience Required:                        
· 2 years Automotive Component or Sub-System Design Experience or Equiv.​
· BSME or equivalent                                              
· Good engineering aptitude                                     
· Program Management experience preferred.​  
                                                                          
Physical Job Requirements:
Work with suppliers designers and manufacturing to ensure product meets design intent. Some hands-on prototype development and testing involved.
 
Training Required:             
· APQP systems

Training preferred:   
· Latest version of Unigraphics software.



Job Description:
Core Competencies
· Mechanical Design and System Development
· Lead design activities for components and systems
· Component specification development
· System mechanization development
· System bill of material generation and cost analysis
· Working knowledge of high-pressure gas and hydraulic systems
· DFMEA, DFA, DFM knowledge
· CAD capability a plus
Responsibilities:
· Lead design and analysis of client designed components.
· Evaluate/​develop supplier parts to ensure product meets design targets.
· Liaison to manufacturing, service and vendors to implement designs that are cost effective and manufacturable.
· Ensure program timing is met.
