REQUIREMENTS
 
Experience / training / education:
· BS in Electrical Engineering
· Minimum 5 years experience in automotive or related field (e.​g. aerospace)
· Experienced in electrical schematic capture (e.​g. PADS Logic Orcad)
· Wire routing experience Wire Harness Design from Concept to Actual Jig Board Production
 
Desired but not required experience:
· Strongly preferred with experience in Installation/routing of wire harnesses in vehicles
· Experience with Hybrid Plug-In Hybrid (HEV PHEV) and Electric (EV) vehicles
· High Voltage vehicle and battery pack wiring packaging & protection techniques. High voltage safety and EMC standards connector selection. Prototype vehicle design and integration issues.
· Electro/Mechanical Design Engineering
· Unigraphics NX or other 3D CAD modeling experience wire harness 3D modeling.
· Knowledge of requirements for electronic automotive components DFMEA Device Transmittals etc.
· Knowledge of the operating of sensors and actuators
· Test and Validation of the wiring system and attached components at the Vehicle Systems level.
 
Travel:
· Up to 20% travel for on-site customer support at various US and world locations.



Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Will design and develop electrical systems for alternative vehicle propulsion systems and related industrial refueling systems. Manage multiple projects from concept to production. Design and develop schematics for wire harnesses and assemble/install prototypes.
  
EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Review requirements (OEM, Customer Schematics).
2. Generate schematics to satisfy system requirements.
3. Generate layout to build wiring harnesses, develop packaging.
4. Check all prints for production/prototypes.
5. Submit drawings to document control.
6. Installation/routing of wire harness in vehicles develop harnesses.
7. Development and execution of test requirements.
